Oxford and Blenheim Palace

Another bus trip... so fun!  Luckily it was only a day trip and we weren't very far from London.  We started off the day by going to Blenheim Palace, which is the birthplace of Winston Churchill.  It was huge and had fantastic gardens!  After that, we went to Oxford to look around a little bit.  First, we went to the Ashmolean Museum to look at a few paintings and sculptures.  We also visited New College there, which is ironic because it was built and established in the 1300s.  Fun fact, part of the fourth Harry Potter movie was filmed there as well!  I'll post pictures of the specific part. :) Then we went souvenir shopping and walked around the city.  At about 6:05 (which is 6:00 Oxford time) we attended an Evensong at the Christ Church College, which was very interesting.  It included a lot of scriptures and music, which made it a nice evening.  Then, we headed back to the beautiful London Centre to hang out and finish homework.  It wasn't super busy, but it was a pretty successful day!

This is the pub that the Inklings would meet regularly.  The Inklings is a group of famous authors that would often meet together to discuss their works.  It included both J. R. R. Tolkien, and C. S. Lewis.
