Today we got the opportunity to do a lot of walking and go to quite a few parts of the city. We completed two of the guided walks for one of our classes, because of course we still need to do homework. :) The best part about the homework is that the courses here are made to "enrich our experience," not particularly "challenge us academically." So as we walk the suggested routes, we are asked to take enough pictures to write a themed photo essay. Just an excuse to take more great pictures, right? :)
St. Paul's Cathedral
Ironically enough, since Mary Poppins, they have changed the rules. You are no longer allowed to feed the birds!
The city of London! One of the coolest things I noticed (also the topic of my photo essay) is that there are so many buildings that are hundreds of years old right next to modern buildings that have just been completed. The eras are all mixed together, which I think is incredible.
I love this one! Little House in the Big City:)
This is an old church, but my favorite part is definitely the door...
...and cute matching windows!
We stopped for some AMAZING pizza at a small restaurant called Pizza Express. We ordered a tomato, basil, and pesto pizza and it was so good!
Tower Bridge over the Thames River
The famous London Bridge!
Fountains Kensington Gardens
The famous Peter Pan statue in honor of the author who created him, J. M. Barrie. It is found in the Kensington Gardens as well.
This is the Prince Albert memorial statue at the edge of Kensington Gardens and Royal Albert Hall, where many famous concerts take place.
